i was tagged by the awesome blogtress (yes i just made up that word) Randi for this blogging tag thingamabob so here is mine:
The Rules:
1-Link to your tagger and post these rules on your blog.
2-Share 7 facts about yourself on your blog, some random, some weird.
3-Tag 7 people at the end of your post by leaving their names as well as links to their blogs.
4- Let them know they are TAGGED by leaving a comment on their blog.
here are my random, weird, hopefully interesting facts:
1. i edit children's books for a living.
2. i was a bit of a child-artist prodigy. I used to paint with watercolour and oil paint and ink and everything, but stopped when I was about 14. maybe I was just sick of it?
3. i am a huge nerd at heart and LOVE reading. every year growing up my local library would have contests to see who could read the most books over the summer and I always won by a long shot.
4. i am moving out on my own for the first time ever (no roomies) in five short weeks. alone, except for my cat, oliver.
5. i love pickles and have been known to eat an entire jar of delicious garlic flavour pickles in one sitting. a mini jar i guess, but still a jar!
6. i hardly ever watch tv shows during their regularly scheduled time. even if i'm home, i like to tape them and save them for moments when i can really just chill out and relax (and watch things i'm looking forward to.) and i get to fastforward through commercials.
7. i hope this doesn't sound too strange but i have found the secret to happy, stress-free living and here it is: being happy with who you are and what you have right now, and without jealousy or resentment, wishing true happiness for those around you. karma baby!
i will tag, for those who may be interested:

I think these lists are so fun to read. And I'm sorry, edit children's books? for a living? that's SO awesome!
you need a tivo!
Love #7.
(btw, thanks for the tag, but I usually just opt out of the tag/meme thing, you can pick someone else if you want :)
Your job sounds so cool :)
And congrats on moving out on your own, sounds like it will be really fun and exciting.
oh, nobody has to do it.
future readers: NO PRESSURE! only do it if you have lots of free time, let's say, at work maybe, during lunchtime of course!
and katieo: i don't think many people have tivo in canada. you can get something like it through the cable company, but it's expensive. or, too expensive for me, anyway.
anne: thanks! i am very excited.
and yes everyone, my job is the best! it's really fun!
i adore pickles too! my dad use to tell me i would turn into a pickle someday, i used to eat so many!
and i love to read! so much so that i work for a public library. no overdue fees for me! ;)
you have the coolest job ever, btw.
no TIVO, no outgoing mail.... all my Canadian fantasies are getting blown out of the water!
yes your job does sound fun and impressive. Kid is also a voracious reader (I'm not sure if she can read or not funnily enough) anyway she reads (ok maybe looks at books) for hours a day... always has even as a baby... I dream of her winning some library contest and being a huge nerd!
and of course I'll do it.. I'm all about sharing my inner weirdnesses!
I think you're allowed to make up words, you're qualified with your job right?
Yay nerds! yay books! yay moving out! (very exciting, I've never lived alone, went from mom and dad, to college roomies, to husband! I guess I had 2 weeks in our place before hubby moved in and it was very fun. You'll love it.) And artist prodigy thing? Cool. do it anymore?
Also, I am so pleased to know somebody else who knows how to be happy and doesn't just complain or feel sorry for themselves. CHOOSE to be happy and you will be!
I love the last one because I know its true
