a test of wills

today i feel a bit like a fatty mcbutterpants. last night my boyfriend and i went to see the new james bond movie (it was only ho hum compared to the last one) and we shared swedish berries and popcorn. i asked him TEN times not to get butter on the popcorn, and he got butter because he thought i was joking. joking? what kind of joke is that? i can't even wrap my head around it. obviously i still ate some because i'm not going to be a jerk who refuses to eat the popcorn that someone bought for me.

so i got up really early this morning and went for a 30 minute swim. i didn't really feel like swimming, but it's one of my quickest workouts, and i can shower in the pool change room which makes for an even faster time because there are no comforts of a home shower. no choice of body wash or shampoo, no relaxing stream of water from the rainfall shower head... just in and out.

tonight i am going to the movies again. i don't go for six months and then go twice in two days. apparently that's how i roll. some of my girlfriends and i are going to see twilight, and meeting for dinner at shoeless joe's first. i looked at the menu online, and it's really the worst thing ever. luckily the NI is posted, and I've narrowed it down to two options. 1) french onion soup (5 points) with a large house salad (3 points) and balsamic dressing (1 point) or 2) something called a salmon skillet which is salmon with veggies and rice (10) points. both are pretty good options. they have some things that sound yummier like the goat cheese burger, but i'm not compromising on the points after the butterfest of yesterday. it's only shoeless joe's, not a gourmet restaurant, and tomorrow i won't care what i ate for dinner tonight.

hmm, some sense of humor your bf thinks you've got huh?

I want to go to them movies now! Maybe next week. but I haven't gone in SOO long I feel like whatever I see has to be SOOO worth it! (we should have gone for Dark Knight...)

I'm sure that popcorn didn't make a blip in the scale and both your options for tonight sound really really good.

I love your last sentence. You are totally right that tomorrow it won't matter what you ate today. Good call. Enjoy!! (I'd pick the salmon just cuz it's something I wouldn't have at home.)

That is a REALLY great way to look at temptation!

"Tomorrow I won't care what I had for dinner tonight"

I will have to start using that line on myself when I'm out at a restaurant!

That is not too bad for French Onion soup! I also like that last line, what a good way to look at things!

Ha! That's SO funny - I never go to the movies and this past weekend I saw two - Twilight on Friday with the girls and Bond on Saturday with my husband and his brothers! TOO funny about the popcorn - a joke?! Boys...

What did you end up getting?! The salmon skillet sounded yum!!

Ah, was Twilight good???? I really want to see it but I heard mixed reviews...

I am not sure what to think about the 4th book...I thought it was great (totally different, more "dream-like" I guess???) However, I thought they swelled and swelled towards this AMAZING fight scene and then NOTHING...it was like a huge tease...not cool...and do you find it interesting that the Author (who is mormon btw...I think that has a LITTLE to do with it) is VERY short on the violence (except in eclipse) but ALL about the sex (after marriage)...seriously...those kids had a LOT of sex in the last book...kind of made me envious! ;p

Personally I loved the new Bond movie...I ADORE Daniel Craig as Bond...and even though it wasn't AS good as Casino Royale, it is now #2 on my list of top Bond movies (with GoldenEye as number 3)...
