uh oh

i can tell it's going to be one of those days already... what kind of day? a hungry day! how do i know? because i'm still hungry!
i think running more is turning me into a hungrier person. i hate being hungry. actually i love being hungry, if food is prepared and in sight and ready to eat and smelling good. i hate waiting to eat when i'm hungry... it turns me into a pinchy crab.

today at lunch i'm going to ride my bike to value village and look for halloween costumes for my bf and me. we are going as kurt cobain and courtney love. it should be really funny if i can pull it together. why do i always wait until the last minute!

this morning's ride to work was chilly! there aren't many riding days left unless i break out the winter gear that i don't have. i think i'd rather invest in some outdoor winter running gear. the thought of the treadmill all winter long is so boring.

next week i'm going to make these for halloween. aren't they so adorable? i think i might sub in a regular sugar cookie recipe though. do you think that would affect the toppings at all? i hope they turn out well... my baking tends to go either way. a few weeks ago i tried baking a can of pumpkin with cake batter and it tasted like poo. pumpkin poo. my bf ate one and his review was, "gross." yep, gross!

here is today's menu:

breakfast:
oatmeal (2)
2/19

snack:
1/2 cup cheerios (1)
yogurt(1)
4/19

lunch:
2 slices bodywise wheat bread (2)
1/2 can tuna with fat free miracle whip (2)
lipton cup of soup (1)
9/19

snack:
pear (1)
10/19
maybe grapes too (1)
ok and rye crackers
12/19

dinner:
not sure, but i'm thinking about pasta, or i have 1/2 spaghetti squash to use.
nope i changed my mind to breakfast pour dinner!
1 egg + 2 whites, scrambled (3)
2 slices turkey bacon (2)
2 slices sprouted grains bread (2)
19/19

and after the gym tonight i'll enjoy some popcorn or cookies (my mom's homemade. i still have 2 left which i a proud of since she only gave me a small ziplock bag of them THREE weeks ago!)

If you're going to keep running, start eating your APs.

well i eat them already from the cardio i do at the gym, but since i'm not an online paying member anymore i'm not sure how to calculate running APs.

i think i burn about 200 cals with each podcast - so add 2 AP?

a steady run for 30 mins at my weight only earns me 3APs.

This may help you:

Light Activity Points = Weight X Minutes X .000232
Moderate Activity Points = Weight X Minutes X .000327
Heavy Activity Points = Weight X Minutes X .0008077

Thanks that helps. I think right now it's 2 AP - because I'm running and walking... but when I run for 30 minutes I'll up it to 3 for HEAVY points, haha.

so you guys have Value Village up there too? Is it as smelly as ours?

no problem subing out the dough for another cookie dough.. if you were seriously asking. I've got a great recipe, I'll post it tomorrow if I get a chance.

yes, i was seriously asking about the cookies! my bf teaches elementary and i'm making them for his class. i want them to be superyum.

and yes value village is the ultimate in smelly. but i did manage to find stuff for our costumes! i have to sew mine a bit, but i think it will turn out grungetastic!

Such cute cookies! SOmeone made the funniest "finger" cookies at a halloween party I went to once...it was sugar cookie dough shaped into crickety (is that a word) shaped fingers and used whole almonds at the ends to shape witchy fingernails. They were so funny!

Okay here is the cookie recipe...
I can't get it together to post over at my site...
These are the kind that you ice. I think they would be perfect for those little vampire cookies.

Cut-Out Sugar Cookies

3/4 c butter, softened
1 c sugar
2 eggs
1 t vanilla
2 & 3/4 c all-purpose flour
1 t baking powder
1 t salt

In large bowl of an electric mixer, beat butter and the 1 c sugar until creamy; beat in eggs and vanilla. In another bowl, stir together flour, baking powder, and salt; gradually add to butter mixture, blending thoroughly, to form a soft dough. Cover tightly with plastic wrap and refrigerate until firm (at least 1 hour) or for up to 3 days.
On a floured board, roll out dough, a portion at a time, to a thickness of 1/4 inch (just less than a cm), keep remaining portions refrigerated. Cut out with cookie cutters and place slightly apart on ungreased baking sheets.
Bake in a 400 degree oven for 8 minutes or until edges are just beginning to turn golden.

*I like mine soft, so I try and get them out just before they develop any color, this a batch to figure out exact timing (6-8 min)
