i ate two pogos last night and they were franfriggintastic! i love pogos! usually on thursdays i go to the gym, but tonight something has come up and i'm not going. the good thing is tomorrow i have a vacation day, so i can gym it up in the morning, when it's so empty and wonderful! woohoo!
today i had a dentist appointment, so i didn't get to eat breakfast until just a few minutes ago. (it's 12:20pm). the left side of my mouth is totally frozen.... bleh, i hate that feeling.

cheesecake
boo i'm so tired today! i was up late last night waiting to drive home band gear. but the good news is, when i came into work there was a slice of cheesecake from second cup sitting on my desk with a note that said "from your secret admirer." i wonder who it could be from!? actually i don't wonder - it's from the bf. it's so sweet though. i took a couple of bites but am saving it in the fridge for later. funny how my body craves bland oatmeal in the morning. too sweet? i don't think i've ever uttered that phrase before!

hooray tuesday
good morning everyone. i rode my bike to work today because i have an appointment at 4pm that is on the way home, and i don't want to have to pay for the subway twice. and finally, it's cooling down a little and the uphill battle home won't be so terrible. tonight might be a long day. i will probably go to the gym after my appointment and then my bf's band is playing at the legendary HT at 10. it's only tuesday!

oh monday. i'm pretty tired today. i pigged out in a major way this weekend so i am going to compensate this week by going veggie crazy. my mom and i went a little ridiculous at the grocery store yesterday and now i'm going to have to actively try really hard to eat all of the fruits and veggies before they spoil.

hooray it's friday!
the area around my office is all crazy today because it's buskerfest. i'd enjoy it more if there wasn't this giant FUNNEL CAKE tent right outside haha. will i be able to eat a delicious tunafish sandwich for lunch or will i give in to temptation? actually my willpower has more to do with being cheap than resisting yummy foods, so i doubt it will be a problem.
today's weigh in i was down .2 from last week, which is nice and stable.

bbq
last night my bf and i tried this new bbq joint in my neighbourhood called cluck, grunt, and low. it's been getting really fab reviews from friends and critics alike. we shared a caesar salad, a bbq chicken sandwich, and a side of baked beans. it was alright - but even though we were full at the end, the portions weren't that great. you'd think bbq place = lotsa food, but that was not really the case. i like that my bf is not a huge eater and we can share portions of things. really, i don't need a big chicken sandwich when i would only be eating 1/2 size at home anyway.

today i'm supplementing my office job by downloading pat benatar's greatest hits. i watched this show on muchmoremusic last night about videoqueens and it's inspired me to reconnect with the 80s.
i also slept for 9 hours last night and it was fabulous. i could really get into this not being tired in the day thing. tonight i'm rushing to the gym after work, then i have a book club meeting. eventful!

vitamins make me sick
i want to take vitamins, but every time i do i feel so sick inside, like i want to vomit. i always forget why i stop taking vitamins, too. today i took some and was sick - not very much, but still. i still feel really nauseated which is not the best feeling at work.
so far, i'm not really missing the weightwatchers online tools very much. i've been doing this for so long that i pretty much have it all figured out in my head. it helps to write stuff down so i know how much i can eat at dinner, and for snacks, etc., but otherwise no problems.
i've also started losing weight. i'm not really sure why - i thought my body was destined to be 125-130 pounds forever. i guess that isn't the case. i am finally below 125 so that's the goal i'm happy with. i haven't been eating any differently, although i have been adding more variety to my fitness routines.

i am skinny
i've been avoiding the scale because i thought i had gained weight. it turns out, i've lost weight! i've been having really good workouts at the gym lately and eating well, for the most part. i guess i always think that a few minor splurges (eg. eating fetticine alfredo at east side marios, with garlic bread AND caesar salad) will result in a huge gain... when really that isn't the case so long as i keep the rest of my eating in check.
today i'm going on a romantic picnic after work and i'm bringing the food. here's what i'm making:
sandwiches with rye bread, havarti cheese, lean chicken breast, light mayo and honey mustard.
grape tomatoes
blueberries
pc blue menu waffle pretzles (if you haven't tried these you need to!)
and rainbow twizzlers

cancelled
i cancelled my subscription to weightwatchers online. why? because i'm trying to be frugal and i don't think i really need it anymore. i hardly use it - only really to use the recipe builder. i'm pretty good at gaging points in my head anyway. if i need it again i won't hesitate to sign up. but for now... i don't think it's necessary. because i have probably, if the offer goes through, just bought a condo in toronto. ready 2010... long time.... but still. HUGE purchase.
here is today's menu. also, in another attempt to be frugal, i've decided to try and eat everything i already have. like the 1,000 cans of soup i seem to have piled up in the cupboard. or the frozen foods, etc. here goes nothing!

warped body image
i def. have a warped body image. all week long i've been snacking... sort of. i think i'm staying within points, but i feel bigger if that makes sense. this morning i stepped on the scale to face the music and i am up 1 pound from last week - but still within my normal range.... so why did i feel so crappy about myself? i looked in the mirror and thought for SURE i looked bigger. but obviously i'm not. and i actually was thinking... how can my pants still fit if i've obviously gained 5 or more pounds. (i wear pretty tight pants) ARGH!

Back and Ready for Action
Well, I'm back from Vegas and ready for action. I stepped on the scale this morning and it showed a 2.2 gain which isn't very much considering I ate and drank a lot. AND my real weigh-in isn't until Friday so I'm eating well today and going to the gym tonight which may show an improvement before tomorrow. I had a GREAT time and I'm in serious vacation withdrawl.
